Koral Smith pitched a complete game and had two hits on Friday to
lift the Tavares High School softball team to a 5-1 win against
Dunnellon in the Class 5A-District 7 championship game at Crystal River.
With the win, Tavares will host a Class 5A-Region 2 quarterfinal game at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Fred Stover Sports Complex.
Smith struck out eight and allowed only three hits in the circle for the Bulldogs. At the plate, she scored a run.
Cindy Cuevas and Katie Hohman scored two runs apiece for Tavares.
